Vulcan 01: beyond the caldera
The first part of Vulcan, a work about the mythology of global capitalism, is produced on the mediacast page today. In the introduction, beyond the caldera, we consider some of the issues facing us with the rise of global capitalism as our dominant mythology in the world today.
Vulcan is the blacksmith of the gods, working beneath his mountain he takes no heed of mortals. All he is interested in is his fiery production and keeping the furnace of enterprise going.
Having given his name to volcanoes, he understands that the caldera is all about explosive potentials.
In this work, our ancient immortal is the metaphor through which we explore the mythology of global capitalism and try to understand how it impacts in our lives for good or ill. Beyond the caldera we find that the background to this mythology is complex and filled with questions we must be prepared to ask if we are going to seriously entertain comprehension.
Vulcan 01: beyond the caldera
Vulcan is a work by Jack Adams which relies on years of research into the history and process of the mythology of global capitalism.
